Rapid improvements at white water course

A major upgrade to the white water course at the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont is getting underway today.

Olympic silver medal winner David Florence is confident the £700,000 project will help him and the country’s other top canoeists in their bid for medals in 2012 as well as creating a white knuckle ride for thousands of recreational users.

Women’s football coaching drive kicks off

Coaching

The first of many women set off on their journeys to becoming level two qualified football coaches last night, thanks to a new programme funded by Sport England. This will boost the number of women working in grassroots football and open up the sport to more people.
