Sport England’s Parliamentary Sports Fellowship Scheme

The Parliamentary Sports Fellowship Scheme is managed by Sport England to encourage better understanding between Parliamentarians and sporting organisations.

The Scheme gives MPs and Peers the opportunity to be twinned with a sporting organisation.

The Scheme’s sponsors in Parliament are Derek Wyatt MP, Hugh Robertson MP and Bob Russell MP.

The purpose of the Scheme is to give MPs and Peers a unique insight into their chosen sport, from grass-roots right up to competition and elite level. Each sporting organisation is required to host their Parliamentarian for seven days. In return, there will be an opportunity for people from sporting organisations to spend three days with their sponsoring MP or Peer in Parliament.
