Creating an active nation through sport

The delivery system for sport is all about connecting people taking part and local deliverers with policy makers and investors in a simple and coordinated way. The system has two clear aims:

County Sport Partnerships
Successful CSPs:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership
  • Engage local government, education, County Governing Bodies, voluntary and commercial sectors
  • Fulfils its three core functions of strategic co-ordination, marketing and communications and performance management effectively for its partners

Regional Partners

  • Sport England has a regional network of nine offices.
  • Regional Sports Boards provide the strategic lead for sport in their regions and distribute investment for community sport.
  • Partnership working with National Governing Bodies, County Sport Partnerships and Community Sports Networks is essential.
  • Other key sectors engaged with at a regional level include health, education, regeneration, spatial planning, economic development and equity.
